ADS · REDDIT

Buy the surface
the models already read.

Reddit is the most-cited domain in our AI answer tracking. Advertising there reaches that audience directly, and the discussion around it keeps feeding the answers long after the campaign ends. We run the ads and the citation measurement together, because separating them wastes both.

What we measure, not what we assume

439

reddit.com citations in our AI-visibility corpus - the most-cited domain of 2,269

243

of 1,950 tracked answers cited Reddit, more separate answers than any other domain

#5

reddit.com's rank in our agentic-commerce corpus, with business.reddit.com at #6

~5%

share of all citations that come from community content - Reddit is concentrated, not dominant

Measured with Asva AI across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Mode in the US, UK and India, over the 90 days to 2026-09-24. Full method in why AI search engines cite Reddit so often.

Why this channel, now

AI answers lean on community discussion

When a shopper asks which product is better, models reach for places where real people compared them. Reddit threads carry the trade-offs and lived experience a product page never contains, which is why they surface repeatedly in citation graphs for buying questions.

Google's surfaces lean hardest

In our tracking the largest engine citing reddit.com was Google AI Mode in one corpus and Gemini in the other, while ChatGPT reached more for Reddit's own business documentation than for its threads. If your category is answered on Google surfaces, Reddit matters more to you than the average.

The intent is unusually specific

People arrive at a subreddit already deep in a decision - a budget, a constraint, a shortlist. That is closer to the bottom of the funnel than most paid social, and it is the same shape of question assistants are being asked.

Most competitors are not there properly

Brands either avoid Reddit entirely or show up in ways the community rejects. Doing it well is still a real advantage rather than table stakes.

How we run it

Map

Which subreddits and threads already surface in AI answers for your category - measured from live citations, not guessed from subscriber counts.

Plan

Placement and creative that fit the community's norms, because the ones that read as ads underperform and get downvoted.

Run

Campaign build, targeting and budget management against the categories that matter to your catalog.

Measure

Reported alongside your Citation Rank, so you can see whether presence on Reddit moves the answers as well as the clicks.

Worth being straight about

Ads do not buy citations. Paid placement reaches the audience; it is the organic discussion and the quality of your product data that decide whether a model names you. We also do not buy upvotes or run accounts under invented personas - it breaches Reddit's rules and the work disappears with the account. The earned side of this is off-page GEO, and the measurement is Citation Rank. If you want reach on Reddit and nothing else, several agencies in our services guide will do it well.
