Instant Checkout
Also known as: ChatGPT Instant Checkout
OpenAI's in-conversation checkout flow, powered by ACP + Stripe. Enables a shopper to complete a purchase without leaving the ChatGPT conversation.
Instant Checkout is OpenAI's product name for the in-conversation purchase flow that launched with ACP. When a shopper taps "Buy" on a product card, ChatGPT summons a purchase sheet inside the conversation — variant/size/quantity picker, address confirmation, payment method — and the transaction completes without the shopper leaving.
For brands, enabling Instant Checkout requires ACP integration + a payment processor that supports ACP delegated-payment tokens (Stripe by default; Adyen and others as supported). Conversion lift over external-checkout baseline is meaningful — Shopify's published data shows ~49%; our field data 35-55% depending on category.
Instant Checkout is the closer-in-the-loop for ChatGPT shopping. Without it, brands can win discovery but lose the conversion rate advantage that's the whole point.
