Amazon Rufus

Rufus is Amazon's conversational shopping assistant, available inside the Amazon Shopping app and (partial) on Amazon.com web. Shoppers ask product questions ("what's a good non-toxic frying pan under $200?") and Rufus answers using listings, reviews, Q&A, and web content indexed by Amazon.

Rufus's ranking model weights customer Q&A depth ~3.2× more than any other signal — the single most powerful lever for optimization. Rufus is closed-loop — shoppers don't leave Amazon unless routed through Buy for Me. Attribution for sellers is thin; workaround is parallel-query testing on a monthly cadence.
